The Suction Control Valve is controlled by the ECU and is mounted on the high-pressure fuel pump of a diesel-powered vehicle. The job of the Suction Control Valve is to maintain the correct fuel pressure under varying load conditions.  Suction Control Valves can fail due to normal wear from age, contaminated fuel or an electrical failure of the valve.
